We just came back from spending a few weeks in the Cloud Forest of Monteverde as volunteer field research assistants to collect data about the fauna and flora of a private conservation reserve. This forest piece is located somewhere along the Cordillera de Tilarán within the Puntarenas and Alajuela provinces…

During those weeks we ended up having seen so much! Although we did not see a single jaguar still we managed to (data-)trap the biggest cat ever caught on this private reserve: a Puma! And a beautiful male it is… This led us to rename our group “the Puma Squad”! ツ

While we are working at getting the feedback of the volunteers and the leaders of this mission (and that we will publish momentarily), here are few pics of the mission.

More photographs of the trip and work are accessible on our Facebook page in our ‘Pics from the Field (Costa Rica)‘ album.
